Have a Seat! Chairs and Seating from the Museum Collections, Upper Old Jail Gallery

Have a Seat! is a fun look at the people and places of South Texas and northeastern Mexico, seen from another angle: the seat (or chair). Visitors to the exhibition will see a sampling of seating from the diverse collections of the Museum of South Texas History. Chairs from work and home, and from schools and shops, will prompt visitors to reminisce and to re-examine that most ordinary and important piece of furniture. These objects also reflect the region’s transition from a largely rural society to an increasingly complex, urban one.
