Tour Etiquette

Rules for Exhibit Areas
  1. No touching display objects allowed-Use your eyes and ears to gather information in the exhibit areas.
  2. No food, gum, or drinks are allowed in the exhibit areas.
  3. No running or playing is allowed anywhere in the museum.
  4. No **FLASH** photography.
  5. The adult supervising the group must be attentive to the behavior of the students.
Rules for the Store
    Students that did not bring money or do not wish to go into the store should be encouraged to participate in an activity in the waiting area in front of the store. Allow no more than 10 students with money to go into the store at a time.
  1. Students turn right as you enter the store to find items priced for children.
  2. Ask students with money to be aware of how much money they have and explain TAX- to them. They need to read the prices of the items they wish to buy.
  3. Before approaching the counter students need to prepare their money by flattening out any crumpled bills.
  4. Students will be allowed to go through the purchase line only once, so they should know how much they are spending before they get to the register.
  5. The adult accompanying the group must be attentive to the behavior of the students.
Rules for the Courtyard
  1. All students should be engaged and paying attention to the person that is leading the tour.
  2. Teachers and students should observe plants, buildings, and bricks which contain names of families and ranch brands of South Texas.
  3. No trash should be left on site.
  4. Students must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.
