FIELD TRIP SUGGESTIONS

When you are away from your campus visiting our museum, here are suggestions of other places in Edinburg that your students might like to visit:

UTPA Planetarium – Call Hector Leal at the planetarium tour line at (956) 665-2185 or email: planetarium@utpa.edu (Also call Chelsea Lyssy at 956-665-7088)

Recycling Center – Call Mary or Janie Chapa (956) 381-5635, ext. 1120 (free tours) or email: recycling@cityofedinburg.com

Fire Department Museum – Call Karina Lozano or Omar Garza at 292-2001 (free tours)

Chamber of Commerce Building/Edinburg train station – Call Imelda at 383-4974 (free tours)

Peter Piper Pizza – Call (956) 380-6666 and speak to the Manager on Duty

Municipal Park – (Corner of E. Sprague St. and Raul Longoria Drive) or J.G. Diaz Park – (Corner of W. Sprague St. and Jackson Rd). If you contact Irene (956) 381-5631, she will have someone clean the restrooms before you arrive.

World Birding Center – Call Lily Cruz at (956) 381-9922 (same location as Municipal Park) for tour information and reservations or e-mail lcruz@cityofedinburg.com
