¡Cascarón! Workshop

April 2, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The Museum of South Texas History will host the ¡Cascarón! Workshop on Facebook Live.

The workshop will feature additional guidance and historical traditions of decorating cascarónes, the Easter tradition of coloring eggs. If you miss the program, it will be posted on the museum’s Facebook page and website at mosthistory.org/special-events-programs. This program is part of the ¡Cascarón! (Easter) celebrations.

Between April 1 to April 3, museum staff will pass out complimentary ¡Cascarón! kits to museum visitors, while supplies last. The kits will include a dozen cascarónes, or eggshells, instruction sheets and supplies necessary to fill and decorate Easter eggs. Families are also encouraged to use the kit supplies to follow along with the workshop.

This programming is made possible by Feeding Fiestas, a partnership with H-E-B. Feeding Fiestas has allowed the museum to explore South Texas regional traditions and celebrations tied to food.

To visit the museum, please visit mosthistory.org/visitor-information. For more information on ¡Cascarón! celebrations, please contact the museum at 956-383-6911 or send an email to rballesteros@mosthistory.org.
