Hispanic Heritage Month: “Farm to Market” Exhibit
October 1 @ 10:00 am - October 2 @ 5:00 pm
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (Sep. 15-Oct.15), the Collections Department will be presenting a spotlight exhibit featuring artifacts and images from the museum’s collection that tell a part of the greater story of “Farm to Market.”
Agriculture has long offered economic opportunity, especially in the Rio Grande Valley. This exhibit will highlight the pioneer role Hispanic farm workers have played in making the Rio Grande Valley a hotspot for Texas agriculture through artifacts and photos highlighting the bracero program, migrant education, tools of the trade and family life.
The spotlight exhibit will remain in the Grand Lobby throughout Hispanic Heritage Month. The museum is closed Mondays and during special events.
