Story Time Tuesday: The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear

July 30, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Make plans to enjoy Story Time Tuesday, a program that features a read aloud presentation followed by a hands-on activity.

This year, Girl Scout Troop 398 from Pharr is collaborating with the museum on this program. Having learned to sew while earning a previous badge, they practiced their skills by fashioning faux food items from felt. These faux food items will be used during Story Time Tuesday.

The books in the series all have stories that feature food, an integral part of any culture and especially so in the borderlands of South Texas and northeastern Mexico. This program is appropriate for children, ages 1 to 7, accompanied by a parent.

This session will include a book reading, “The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear,” by Don and Audrey Wood, followed by a “Pom Pom Mouse” craft and an opportunity to participate in a felt-play food set.

Story Time Tuesday is included in the fee for regular museum admission. FRIENDS of MOSTHistory are admitted free as a benefit of FRIENDship and must present their FRIENDship card at the Admissions Desk.
