The Great Historical Shootout

April 6 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Sure to be a blast, The Great Historical Shootout is back for its third consecutive year! The popular clay shoot will be at Mi Ranchito Sporting Clays in Linn, Texas. Shooters will spend a morning of friendly competition sighting-in on the common target of supporting the museum’s preservation and educational programs.

“It’s a great opportunity to have a little fun, friendly competition while supporting all of the great efforts taking place at the museum,” said Robert McGurk, the chairman of the Great Historical Shootout Committee and a museum board trustee.

Aiming to prove themselves as the Top Guns, shooters will compete in a four-person team rotating from station to station, each with its own challenges. Shooters are responsible for providing their own guns, shells, and ear & eye protection. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. It should be a Saturday morning well spent with friends, customers and/or family.

Registration is now open to individuals and businesses who will recruit their own teams. The registration fee is $500 per team, which includes a ranch-style lunch and beverages after the competition ends for the team members. Station sponsorships are also available at $350 per station, which includes a station sign and recognition at the event. The fee for both a team and station sponsorship is $800.

There will be prizes for the Top Gun of the Great Historical Shootout and for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. An Annie Oakley competition will follow the team competition during which participants will compete for a cash prize. Form a team and have a morning of fun and camaraderie while supporting MOSTHistory. To register for this event, contact Assistant Development Officer Cedar Teal at 956-383-6911.
