The Great Historical Shootout
May 1 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Great Historical Shootout Returns!
After spending over a year of isolating, the COVID-19 vaccines are making it safer to begin a more normal life and enjoy outdoor events. The Museum of South Texas History is resuming the Great Historical Shootout event at Coyote Arms Shooting Center. Sign-in is at 8:00 a.m. This four-person sporting clay shooting competition with fifteen stations and one hundred “birds” is a fun way to raise funds to support the preservation and education programs and service the museum offers to the public year-round. Masks and social distancing are required.
Museum Board Chairman Robert McGurk is heading up the Shootout Committee consisting of MOSTHistory board members: Manuel Cantu, Karina Cardoza, Kellye Ortega, Laura G. Ramirez, Daniel Rios, and Judith Solis. They are planning a great morning of friendly team competition, Annie Oakley competition, prizes, a drawing for a Kodi All Terrain 50-quart cooler on wheels filled with Primo Picks and other goodies, courtesy of H-E-B, and a barbeque lunch by True Texas BBQ also courtesy of H-E-B.
Teams are $500 each and station sponsorships are available for $350 each. Sign up for a team and sponsorship for $800. Time is short, so sign up a team and/or sponsorship today by contacting the Development Team, Lynne Beeching or Maria Rodriguez at 956-383-6911.
