MOSTHISTORY BEGINS SEARCH FOR NEW CEO

Executive Director Shan Rankin

The Museum of South Texas History has launched the search for a new CEO to follow its long-serving Executive Director Shan Rankin, who will be stepping down later in 2019.

Under Rankin’s leadership over the past three decades, the museum has enjoyed considerable success. The museum has doubled in size; more than $40 million has been raised for operations and projects; $10+ million in capital improvement projects have been completed; and the endowment, which generates annual operating income, is now approaching $4 million.

Board Chairman, Juancarlo Rendon, said, “We are grateful to Shan for her years of service to the museum. Shan and her team, along with people in the community and on the Board of Trustees, took what was a small county museum to new heights.  We are all very proud of the work that has been accomplished during her tenure.

“We recognized the importance of seeking highly skilled new leadership and have engaged Lehman Associates of Austin to conduct the search.  We are seeking a highly talented and experienced CEO with an entrepreneurial spirit to take the museum to even greater heights and secure its future for the next 50 years.”
