These photos from last year's Summer Nights at the Museum demonstrate some of the fun and educational activities families enjoyed during exhibit exploration!
Summer Nights at the Museum: A Family Adventure! kicked off at the Museum of South Texas History on Thursday, June 14, 2012. This family-friendly event offers everything from puppet shows to interactive activities and games that encourage learning about the fascinating history of South Texas while having fun. Summer Nights will take place the second Thursday throughout the summer months; June 14, July 12, and August 9.

Each Summer Night features a puppet show based on artifacts in the exhibits. Following the puppet show, children will be given a game card to play “Find Me If You Can.” Families can have fun exploring the exhibits looking for the artifact, character, or image that the puppet characters represent. Those who successfully find these items can enter a drawing to win a Harvest Party for 12 children donated by Donna’s Corn Maze. The drawing will take place after the last Summer Night at the Museum in August. If the child attends all three Summer Nights at the Museum and successfully complete the game, he or she will have three chances to win!

Summer Nights at the Museum will be an evening packed with fun for the whole family. Regular museum admission applies. FRIENDS of the Museum are admitted free as a benefit of FRIENDships. For information on the event or becoming a FRIEND of the Museum, call 956.383.6911.
