On Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, the Museum of South Texas History is proud to host author and UT-PA Librarian Janette Garcia as she presents her book, Edinburg, starting at 2 p.m. Many of the photos in Edinburg were researched by Garcia in the museum’s Margaret H. McAllen Memorial Archive. Garcia said, “I am very excited to be able to share the story about the city of Edinburg at the Museum of South Texas History. The museum itself has such an interesting past, it is like walking through a small piece of history. On Sunday we can explore some of the narratives of the people and places that make Edinburg such a wonderful city.” Copies of Edinburg will be available for purchase during the book signing following the program. Regular admission applies. FRIENDS of the museum are admitted free as a benefit of FRIENDships. For information on becoming a FRIEND of the museum, call 956.383.6911 or visit www.mosthistory.org. The Museum of South Texas History is located at 200 North Closner Boulevard on the Hidalgo County Courthouse square in downtown Edinburg.
